A Face Lift, technically known as Rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure which intends to remove excess fat, tighten underlying muscles and re-position the skin on your face and neck. Face Lifts restore the lost facial contour and definition to the face by returning the support layer to its original position.

Sun exposure, weight fluctuation and the natural ageing process make facial skin loosen and sag resulting in wrinkles and jowls. The muscles of the neck can slacken as well, causing you to look years older than you are.

A facelift is designed to improve the visible signs of aging. It will not stop the ageing process but it can “set back the clock”. Patients between the ages of 40 and 70 years of age are suitable candidates for a Face Lift.

A facelift starts with incisions made along the hairline, along the ear and around the earlobe. Excess skin is lifted and the underlying muscles are tightened and secured with sutures.

Depending on the condition of your skin and your desired results, the procedure may take up to three hours.
Side effects may include swelling, numbness, bruising, and tightness, but most patients report little pain and only minor discomfort.

This procedure can be combined with other surgery such as Blepharoplasty (Eye Lid Surgery) or a Browlift for optimal results.
